what speakers are best?
i have a 2000 mustang gt and i would like to upgrade my mids and highs for now, which speakers are a good decent speakers to upgrade the mach system with...and i plan on getting a sub also, which sub or subs should i get, i dont want anything ungodly loud, just decently loud and good sounding setup!
I would definately go aftermarket, I have the shaker 1000 in my gt but with the top down they loose composure at high levels. I put in Boston Acoustics Pros all the way around, and there is not even a hint of distortment at any level i play them at. They cost more but paying the extra buck is worth it, if the quality of music is essential as it is for me. I had infinity kappa's in my jeep and those were also very good.
Like PJ said, there is no best (well, there is, but they will cost u out the nose). I really like infinity for the money. I can max out my cd player and they hold just fine. I guess with that reasoning, I dont need anything more.

For example, you can find "good" components that employ both silk and metalic dome tweeters. Both can achieve a full range of sound, but the metalic sound far to bright for my taste.
Wow, I'm really surprised that more people didn't jump up to say this or that speaker is "the best." But I agree with the others that this is not a cut and dry issue--so I think it is a virtue and tribute to the folks here that we didn't see an uproar of assorted claims.
Myself, I do favor the Infinity Kappa line up (and Kappa Perfect where applicable). They're very solid speakers, well priced, and suitable for most folks' purposes.
Best,

Even tho everyone has their opinion, we just got the new infiniti line in and the Infiniti perfects are one of the best speakers Ive heard, Im thinkin about switchin out my kicker components and goin with those.... dont forget to get a solid amp to power those speakers tho!
Install, install, install. Those are the best speakers there is.
Seriously, you can take an average speaker and make it sound good with a proper install. You can take $1,000 components and they will sound like crap in a bad install. Get the best you can afford and install them properly and they should blow you away.
