Hi all, first post an its related to an audio problem. right, the pony is a 94 V6 (jap import cos I live in the UK an it made it easier). I had a sony head unit fitted a year ago, along with Audiobahn 6x8s all round and 12" sub in the boot and it sounded sweet as. Yesterday I started my baby up and there was no sound at all from the four speakers (sub was still active). No matter how many times I tried - no luck.
The sub has its own amp, but the audiobahns are driven straight from the head unit for the moment. I tried my head unit in a mates car today (with crossed fingers) and all was fine, I double checked all my connections and plugged it back in to mine and it fired straight up, then with a slight bit of volume, as soon as there was any bass I am getting an almost deafening hum from the speakers! needless to say, I turned it straight off an now I'm trying to find out what the hell could be wrong? ANY (and I mean any) help would be appreciated.

You may have something comming loose or intermittent. When you moved the wiring around it "fixed" it and then the wire settled back to have the problem again. Try pulling the head out while it still hooked up and see if moving the wiring helps.

Just wondering if its possible I have damaged an part of any speaker? (seperate 6x8 and tweeters) as they have capacators in them I think. and I can't understand why its ok until the bass kicks in - tried with and without the sub connected
