about the speakers

Default about the speakers

would someone please tell me if it's posible to fit 6x9 speakers on a 94-98 mustang on the door panels and on the erar of a coupe without major mods? or which kind of mods i would be doing prior to try the install? thanks a lot guys

you can fit any speaker any where you like. i never had that year mustang but if the opening for the speaker is a 5inch or whatever use a dremel and shave it out to the size you want. i did this on all my old chevy. replaced 4+6 with 6+9

True you can basically put any speaker anywhere, but the size that your door is, is actually 5x7. When you go to buy them at a retial place, look at 5x7 and 6x8 they are the same cutout size so you'll be allright with either of them. If you want the "best" you may want to look for some 5 1/4" Component speakers.

In the rear its no problem. In the front you should beable to get it to work as long as you use spacers on the speakers and remove the factory provisions. Also the plastic lip on the iside back of the door panel will need to be shaved off so not to damage the cone.
