Default Sub boxes...

I got 2 Dual 550 watt 12 inch subs for real cheap from a friend, crappy subs I know but they were dirt cheap. He also threw in a 550 watt amp. Problem is, the box the subs were in cant fit in my trunk, so I took out the subs and all the wiring, and I'm thinking about making my own box, or boxes for the two subs. I've never done this before, so what should I look to avoid/include in my boxes when I make them? If someone knows of a site with a good walkthrough that would be appreciated too. Thanks...

Check out the manufactures site for how big the box needs to be to support the sub properly. Make sure you use a lot of caulk to keep it sealed up real good.

Yeah if u want to put 12's in your mustang you are going to have to build a custom box, because the box may be to wide to be able to fit through the opening or your rear deck speakers might block it from being able to fit it in there because the way ford mounts their speakers. My suggestion is make a custom box that will fit in your stang. I agree with the other post also dual is not a good brand of speakers or subs. But I understand about money issues trust me. Not putting you down or anything on that issue. Another thing to think about is if u want 12's in your car and u don't use your back seat much. Unbolt it and yank it out of there. Then get u a rear seat deleter or a custom made fiberglass sub set up of some kind and put that where you back seat was. It will be awsome I took out my rear seat and put a white fiberglass box with 2 15' audiobahns in the box and detailed the white box with a blue racing stripe to match my racing stripe on the outside and it looks awsome.

well good luck

Another way of getting the box in there is taking out the bottom cushion stuff from the carpet. Also to take off the trunk latch but make sure u put it back on when after the install is done.

Thanks for the advice... I ended up getting two seperate boxes. They fit with room left in the back of the trunk for all my stuff and it sounds great.
