popping sound from subs
Tried running an aftermarket HU with the Shaker 500 subs and speakers. Works well other than there's a popping sound when switching between modes (when subs get powered on). Anyone have an idea how to deal with this? Is an issue due to amps being powered after the HU?

ok if it pops between switching modes (sources you mean?...like from radio to CD?)...then it could just be amplifier noise...or interferrence from your power cable if they are too close to your RCAs...also could just be a lose connection on the amp or on the back of the radio
Hmmm... I better check the HU amp enable voltage, I'm not sure what the level is on there.

I think the problem is the head unit is sending 5 volts to the amps and the Shaker 500 amps are only expecting 1.2 volts. You will need a relay to step down the voltage.

Sorry I had the voltages wrong, Read this by Hawgman tells you everything that you need.
