Default System Pics

Im sure people have requested it before but I currently have 2 12" apline type Es in my trunk with a v12 Alpine Mono block mounted to the back of the drivers side seat. The subs are just sitting in a big box and well I dont really like the setup and I would like to maximize the space in my trunk. I would like to see what others have done in their trunks in their hard tops. Also if I put the amp up inbetween the rear speakers on top of the rear deck do you think heat will be an issue?

and as for the amp on the decklid....heat?...most likely not if your windows are tinted....but....don't think it would last long there for another reason: THIEVES!

I ment under the carpet of the decklid on the metal decklid. I am pretty sure there is some space there. Is that where the shaker amps are mounted?

oh okay....yea but i think they are on a tray that is mounted by itself (MACH amps not shaker)...but if you have the amp i am thinking of you might be able to mount it on the underside of the decklid in between the two speakers.....why go through the trouble though...why not mount it on the back of the box? did you see my box? i still have a lot of trunk space....access to my spare tire....and i have a flushed trim panel on top of the box to make it look nice....not a fiberglass box or anything...simple and functional

The effort Im not afraid of. I cut a hole in the rear deck of my old sunfire so that I could mount my 8 inch clarion back there, now that was a lot of work. I do like your install though i think I might have mine pointed the other way so the subs face into the car that way anything floating in the trunk wouldnt hit the subs. I think your amps are bigger than mine, mine is from 2002 I think it puts out like 150 rms to 4 ohms. everything i have came with the car when I bought it a few weeks ago. the box is just a prebuilt one size fits sometimes style of box. Fibreglass can be nice if done right but I think I lack the skills and or the time for it, and MDF and carpet solution would be much faster. Has anyone split their boxes so that if the seats are folded down you could still fit something like a hockey stick down the middle of them?? Im active in sports but love these cars so hence why I need the trunk space

Why does everyone still insist on sealing the subs pointed into the trunk. You want the sound in the car not behind you.

My idea right now is to have it so that there is a sub behind each seat so that when the seat is folded down that you will see the face of each sub. and then the amp mounted somewhere, up on that deck maybe It doesnt have to be seen, functional and clean is my goal, and if all possible I want to be able to get to my spare as well.

I've got 1 12" Type R and believe me, 1 is enough for a type R. Maybe mount the amps on the side of the enclosure and the subs facing the rear.
