six disc changer in explorer
Hey all~
My mom has a 2001 Ford Explorer sport trac with the premium audio 6 disc changer in the head unit.
First question... would it be safe to say this is the same/similar unit used in the mustangs?
Second question... what would cause it to spontaneously get in the 'mood' that the seek button is being held, yet no one is touching it? Dirty button or internal problem? Whether it be in cd mode or radio mode, sometimes it randomly gets stuck on 'seek'
any ideas let me know. I know it's an explorer but i think it's the same radio (i know a guy with the 6 disc changer in his stang)
George

you will need to pull that radio and check to see if it is the same wiring that is in your car. The radio is the same but ford uses a couple of different wiring schematics.
The button thing is probably just sticking.
