Mach 460 aux input - Does it exist?
Hi, I just bought a 2003 convertible v6 with the Mach 460 system, and I am looking for a aux input adaptor. I found this adaptor at Crutchfield. However, they told me it's incompatible because I've already got an internal 6 CD changer.
So anyway, has anyone successfully installed this with their Mach system? I would hate to have to use a FM modulator, but if this doesn't work, it will be my only choice.

Yes, it will work. I have that and it works fine with the CD changer. no loss of functionality whatsoever. all you do is push the cd button once to select the cd changer and then push it again to select the aux. Far better than using the fm modulator crapola.
Redass02gt, I took a look at the part on the crutchfield website (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-9M2iOLk...amp;i=581DFF20) and it said I need to abide by the following (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-BEEVylO...=&g=227450)
Do you have a COMP button? How did you still get your CD changer to work if you have to unplug it? I must be looking at the wrong product or maybe there is a way to jerry rig it? I have a 2003 GT with a Mach 460 stock with a built in 6cd changer, any advice would be greatly appreciated cos this is driving me flipin nuts! Thanks

the second link didn't seem to work for me. but the input device I purchased (pretty sure it's the DFF20, I'll confirm next time i go out to my car. I know for 100% certainty that it is indeed a USA-spec unit) connects to the rear of the mach 460 6CD in-dash changer, and you switch between the in-dash CDs and aux inputs by pushing the "cd" button (right next to am/fm). it cycles between the in-dash CDs and the aux input (it's noted as "DJ") each time you push the "cd" button. you switch between the two aux inputs, iirc, by changing between track 1 and track 2.
the info for this product on the internet is FUBAR'd and hard to understand for whatever reason, but it really does work without losing the in-dash CD functions. I didn't buy one for the longest time because I also didn't want to lose the CD changer, but somebody on this forum purchased one and it turned out that you still have all functionality.

Whoops! Sorry about the second link. That is great information, I really appreciate it, from just the couple of days I have been on the forums I see this question is coming up again and again so I am going to get the device and do a write up with pictures. Thanks again bro. Oh, if you do get a chance to confirm that it is in fact the DFF20 I will pull the trigger then..
Hmm, this model (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-is5mQ6T...sp?I=581PA11F1) 581PA11F1 looks like the DFF20 but it also charges the IPod and lets you control it from the stereo interface. I suspect it will work the same as the DFF20 as it has the same misleading instructions about replacing the CD changer and the need for a COMP button. Does anyone have experience with this?
Good idea, I will give that a try. I was going to get a set of mustang radio keys to pull the radio but there are no holes at all in the front, how do you get these out? I will post a picture tonight of the front of the radio....
Thanks for the help
