I need help with putting an amp and sub in my 99 vert
I don't know what factory system I have(newb)... it's a two peace system....tape deck and cd player....but the cd is not a changer like everyone talks about with the mach 460...so don't know if that is the system I have. I think it has a front amp but can't find the rear ones. if it has them where would they be? I'm confused......what would be the best way to hook my 400 watt boss amp and my 10" RF punch.....HELP!!!!![:@]
Ok mach 460 runs 3 amps, one in the headunit, runs all the mid/highs, and then two in the trunk that runs the 4 lows in the car, You will need to splice the wires in the back that are leading to the lows in the back, there is a mustang world article, google it, they tell you how to do it, but i recomend just getting a new headunit and just run the mid/highs, and the sub, i did that and it sounds pretty good.
I don't want to change out the unit for a few reasons but I don't know if this is a 460 is the thing...I cant locat the rear amps and I only have 4 speakers....2 doors and two in the rear side panal
the 460 is easy to tell if you have tweeters by the side mirrors and the rear speaker grills are different too. More then likely you don't have it as if you did you would know.
The easiest way to get a sub in a vert is to use the space for the spare tire.
Here is an example my shop did.
