Default Push button starter,,out of dash flip switch

Well i am a big nerd and can't keep from messing with stuff so,,My 88 lx doesn't have a rear defrost but in some spare parts i have there is a button set that does,,so i had an idea, why not use the momentary swith to activate the trigger wire on the solenoid, so without a manual to tell me which wires did what i started playing and had a lightbulb wired in the circuit and after 2 trys i found the right combo that would kick on the light and shut it back off when i let go,,then i ran some 10gauge out to the solenoid and hooked up the other wire to a hot on run,, and there ya go i push the defrost button to start my car,,and everybody i show it to loves it.

if anyone else wants to do this i will pull the switch back out so i can tell ya what wires to use.

That's pretty cool, so do you turn to key to on then use the button? So does it not start just by turning the key all the way anymore?

That's kinda cool, would you mind e-mailing me how you did it? My e-mail's DaBlakNite@hotmail.com It's something I might do this summer, not with the defrost but get a button and hook that up or something, would just be something different and cool.

I got a little momentary switch at radio shack along with an led I'm gonna wire in with it. I'm not quite sure where I'm gonna put it yet though, maybe below the convertible top switch. It would be kinda hidden. I'll probably do it in a few weeks when I get home for the summer cause unless I wanna buy a DC to AC inverter I can't get power to my dremel.
