Default speakers

If I wanted to upgrade my stock speakers in my '04 gt (mach system), is this a big deal? Crutchfield gives me a list of speakers that fit when I enter in my car's info. Should I be looking for 2 ohm or 4 ohm spakers? Also, are the front door and back deck speakers the same size? Are they 6x8 or 5x7?

also, what is the difference between normal speakers and "component speakers"? Should I go with 6x8s or 5 1/4s because crutchfield recommends both for my car...?

coaxial speakers have the tweeter and mid built right in to the woofer a component speaker the tweeter and woofer are seperate and have to be mounted seperate in your car if its a hardtop there are 5x7/6x8 in the front and on the rear deck i prefer 2ohm there are 4ohm doesnt really matter and it isnt really a big deal at all take the door panels off unscrew a few screws and replace and on the back take off the carpeting and replace hope i helped a little

5x7 and 6x8 are the same companies just started naming them different for no real reason, they'll both fit the same in your car. 5x7/6x8's all the way around in Mustangs.

so what do you guys think about me getting these all the way around:

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-AJtJTHK...00&I=1086812CF

Also, what's the difference between 1 way, 2 way, 3 way, and 4 way speakers? I know I can find these speakers cheaper than what crutchfield offers...also, I would install these with my alpine cda-9857 deck. As for the tweeters, am I ok just to keep my stock ones (the ones mounted by the mirror on each door)?...or should those be replaced too? Thanks for the help.

Honestly Infinity just took a nose dive in the Car Audio world because they are now available at Best Buy. If your wanting something thats easy to find in department stores. Polk Momo series 5x7's will work great. Infinity's are known to play cleanly but can't play loud so if you are going on the highway and turn the radio up expect some distortion. Those Polks will sound good at all volumes and be able to blast without many problems.
Polk Momo's
1-ways almost unheard of besides woofers, essentially and simply put it's how many sources of sound a speaker has. Woofers have 1 so you could call them 1-ways. Those Infinity's or those Momo's I showed you you'll see they have the woofer and the center mounted tweeters, those are termed 2-ways, and from there most speakers add more and more tweeters to a coaxial speaker, if you look at Pioneer you'll see they offer up to 5-way speakers. Anything more than 3-ways are over kill, theres too much of your high frequencies at that point.
The stock tweeters for what your doing they will be fine of course you can always upgrade them, but then you might as well be getting a complete componet system. You can get 5 1/4" componet systems for Mustangs, you'll need to get the trim plates to get them to fit into the 5x7/6x8 hole. Look around Crutchfield for some componet sets and see what you like.

Hahaha thats some funny stuff, I swear infiniti was available at circuit city for the longest time, they didnt take a "nose dive" by going to bestbuy it was actually a very smart move, they wanted to make more money so they wanted the best well known electronics distributor to sell their products.... depending on what store and location bestbuy also sell top end car audio such as the infiniti perfect series and higher end alpine and fosgate products.... so with that statement that you made you obviously dont know what your talking about.... many good car audio companies sell to major electronics distributors such as best buy and circuit city along with other companies so that they can make money!!!! I can guarantee you that more people buy car audio from best buy that any other retail or , audio store why? because price!

So now when they have to now make 2-3 maybe 4 times as much product you don't think theres a cut in quailty at all? And aside from them going to a major retailer, you can't honestly say their products are just as good as the were 3-5 years ago. And really don't get me wrong Infinity has some great SQ but they can't be cranked up and still retain anywhere near the same quality of sound.
