Crutchfield tells me 5x7 / 6x8 fit in the front and 6 1/2 fit in the back.
eBay tells me 6x8 all around

I know 5x7 and 6x8 are the same, just different cone size right?

eBay tells me that 5x7 do not fit, and only 6x8

I assumed that because all the speakers in the stang are the same size, that a replacement speaker of the same size will fit.

So can anybody confirm which speaker sizes fit?

Coaxial "standard" speakers. 5x7/6x8 all the way around. You can do 5 1/4" components in the front if you want better sq.

I put 6.5's in the front with no problem, if you decide to get something other than 6x8's or 5x7's then get 6.5 component speakers with tweeters, they sound sooooo much better!

alright, ill ask the shop im getting my **** done at what 6.5 components they suggest. Im going to be running them off a 300/2 JL amp if that matters to any of you doods.

Why does crutchfield say 6.5 wont fit in the door?

The polk DB component series seem to be in my price range. I can get 5 1/4 for the doors and 6 1/2 for the rear panels.

Thing is they are only in my price range on eBay

Crutchfield doesn't spec the 6 1/2's because there's some cut-out work you'll have to do to get them to fit.
