This is the alarm I have an its awesome, I had an audiovox before an it had a lot of problems with it, so I swapped it out with this one, this Viper has lots of features such as remote start, paging, and alot more it comes with an lcd remote and you can buy an extra if you want check it out... I have the python version of the Viper LCD/Remote Start/Alarm and it will page me within a couple hundred feet. Alot further if the car is in line of sight. Viper/Python Alarms (and any brand made by Directed Electronics) is pretty much the industry standard. Thanks.

In the manual it says it will reach up to a 1/4 mile which I have actually been able to make it reach that far, I have actually started it from block away.... you can also add a proximity sensor to it which is what I did, it kindda puts a "force field" around your car hahaha, so that if someone gets too close or touches the car itll give a warning and page you....

How hard is it to install that system? do you need anything additional for remote start?

The viper 791xv is the best remote start alarm. Being that I am the shop manager for DFM car stereo in lakeport cali and have to install these all the time. As for extra parts, Do you have a stick? there will be extra parts for that. Also there is a Immobilizer Bypass on all the 2000 body styles and also on the 05's.Basicly this extra part bypasses the chip in the key and makes it able to start.
Going to do this yourself? Hope you know what your doing. I can get you wire diagrams!

need yr and model

I have the Viper Two way alarm and I live on the 10th floor in my building. I have no issues communicating with my remote. I vote the Viper by DEI as well. Side note Clifford and a couple others are essentially the same alarm, they are all made be DEI.
