How did you do it? If I remember right (I replaced the shaker), it doesn't like multi-session disks so you have to finalize it.

Easiest thing to do is use iTunes. When you insert a CD there's a button in the corner to Import the tracks. Once you adjust the options, this will create the MP3s on your computer. Then you can make a playlist (File>New Playlist and drag your songs into the playlist on the left) out of the tracks you stored, and when you click on the playlist, the button in the corner will now let you Burn it to disc. Now, before doing any of this you have to go to Edit>Preferences>Advanced>Importing and set it to MP3 format and pick a bitrate (192kbps is best), then you have to set the Burning options to MP3 CD or Data CD. After that both importing and burning takes only a couple clicks. Couldn't be easier.

Yep...the question being what software and what options. The only one I know may cause a problem is if multi-session is selected.

I used iTunes for the first try, but I'll give it another shot. Thanks for the help.

Jeremy,

If you have continued problems, one thing to try is to slow down your write speed on your burner. You may be attempting to write to a CD faster than the CD is designed for. It may take a few minutes longer, but a good burn is worth more than a coaster. Slow your write speed down and try again.

is there a minimum file size (kbps) the Shaker will recognize.

I have seen claims to 1500 song capacities with the 6-disc. I'd like to give it a try.

I got "bad disc" on a number of CDs and skipping. I took it back to Ford and they sent it away for two weeks (argh!). It's back now and works fine with any of the mp3 CDs I've burned.

Is there a recall on the Shaker headunits?

I get bad disc messages any time the mp3 is less than 128kbps.
