1993 Power Driver's Seat Problem
I'm new to the forum and I'm thinking about buying a yellow 1993 vert from a guy. It's immaculate, but there is one intermittent problem with it. He said a couple times when he's adjusted the power driver's seat it ended up briefly shorting out the top/windows/etc. He said when it did this he had to disconnect the battery for a few minutes and after he hooked it back up everything worked fine. He thinks maybe a wire for the seat got chaffed somehow and isn't getting a good connection. I think that's possible, but I was thinking maybe it could just be the switch too. Any ideas?
I have had issues with my 94 although it would just lock up, would not short anything out. I cleaned the track and motor assemble with wd40 and then wiped it off and added some grease and it works fine now.
Right now, i'm having a problem with the drivers power seat and i have a 96' mustang gt convertible with only 53,000 miles on it and the power seat wont move back so now i'm all squished against the dash almost everytime i drive and i'm 5'8 and it's very uncomfortable. many people have told me that my regulator could be bad, but see i don't have the money to really fix it right now and yeah, it's very unsafe driving like that too if you know what i mean. good luck with fixing your seat though, i hope i could help you a bit =].
