ok we were playing around with my stero and had it up pretty loud and the bass pretty up high and the sub just stopped working, i duno what to check at all i dont know much about car audio stuff, any ideas on what i should check?

 

is it the stock equipment or aftermarket? Always start with fuses.

 

Check the fuses. Possibly you have an amp where if it overloads it shuts off.

 

i went back out last night and turned it on and it was working again is it possible it just got too hot?

 

if you were hammerin on it for a while then yes, it could have been in thermal protection. next time it does this touch the amp to see how hot it is.
