Need some help
I've got an 05 with a shaker 500 and I'm going to be putting in a new system. Right now what I'm planning on doing is ditching the 8 inch door subs and putting one in the trunk. Replace the 5 x 7's in the rear with Polk MMC 570s or a 5 1/4 size set, sub in the trunk yet to be determined, then here's where I need some help. Where can I get brackets if I wanted to stick 5 1/4's where the 5 x7's are? Also I want to put in a component set up front, mounting the tweeters where the 5 x 7's are and the 6 1/2 inch woofer in the 8 inch speaker locations, but how can i get brackets to make this fit? If I can't fit the 6 1/2 I'll go 5 1/4 but I don't see why a 6 1/2 wont fit in a 8 inch sub spot, the issue is just getting the right brackets. Any suggestions? Also I'm thinking either the Polk MMC6500 or the SR6500.
Lastly for a head unit I'm think something along the lines of an Alpine CDA-9857, any thoughts on the quality of the unit? Still figuring out an amp, but definitely want to go with a single 6 channel amp.

I used 1/4 inch MDF to make my own mounting plates, for the subs when I removed the existing speakers made a template and cut it out and then cut a hole for the 6.5 in speakers, did the same for the 5x7's in the top of the door. I used some foam tape to ensure I got a good seal all around. I took the grill off the old subs so it looks 100% stock but sounds much better.

How did you get the grills off without destroying them?
