I forget where I read it but somewhere it said the factory unit was tuned to accept more bass fromthe stock speakers. Also make sure the speakers are properly matched with the power levels and resistance of the head unit. Chris
there is basicly non at all....
when i put it all the way up on the new unit....(+12db) it sounds like the bottom two speakers are
choking.....it sounds better with the bass COMPLETLY turned off
i would really like to get this fixed as soon as possible and i cant figure it out!

it sounds like they wired the sub output of the deck into the mach system the same way I did. I had the same problems with my speakers until I added a line driver. The factory amps are used to having a higher wattage output from the factory radio and are now being driven by a lower power, but cleaner rca signal. The line driver is basically a low level amp that will take the 1-2v output from the rca and boost it to 4-8 volts. By giving the amp a hotter input you will get a hotter output. I found mine for about $20 and was amazed the difference it made in the output.
it will also help the sound if you get a passive cross over for the front speakers behind the mirror. they are not good for bass at all.......

they should be able to fix it?
like i said the bass sounds TERRIABLE
NOTE:
pre-amp output volts - 4 V
pre-amp output impendance - 60
subwoffer output voltage - 4V
subwoofer output impedance - 60
no worries. First you need to ask if they did wire the sub output on the deck into the factory sub. If that is the case then yes the line driver will help and make a big difference. They can run between $20-100 depending on the brand. I put a cheep on in mine and it has been fine so don't let them rip ya a new one, for a new one. And as far as install you should only need a short set of rca's and 3 more wires connected, don't let them fool ya that it is harder then it is and get overcharged.
Even if this is not the case if you paid them to install it, they should fix it....

well i went back and complained, they said it is bc the factory setup had the crossover in the head unit,
and with no cross over, the door speakers are underpowered/confused
i think i am just goin to return the unit and get a 12 put in the trunk
with its own amp
