Default Stereo doesnt work

well me and a buddy installed my system in my 85 a few days ago, it sounded great, well today it just stoped working, headunit is fine and we tested the wires and its getting power. anyone know anything?

also i have a set of OEM (non ricer) looking fog lights that im installing but i need to connect it to another power source like the parking lights, how do i do this? can i just go off the fuse or do i need to splice the wire,

its an 1985 BTW, old school

an 85 more then likely has a common ground radio. Was the stock radio in it where you had to wiggle it out of the back? If you are installing a standard cd player in it to factory wiring you may have your problem. What kind of cd player is it? What else is in the car? What kind of wiring? What color of car?

panassonic CD player, and i riped the stock one out (pain in the ***) and i have 2 rockford fosgate 6x8s in the back, 2 3.5" MA audios in the front and a MTX blue thunder 10" sub with a 300 watt amp, i actually think something shorted out in there. if so what can be done to fix it?
