No clue... probly not the best place for that kind of question :-/ Head over to the audio/visual section and post the same thread. You'll get more responses there:-) Good luck...

Most likely yes...but kinda depends on what the brands of each are and how you want it to sound....i.e. if it's a JL W7 sub and a Lightning Audio amp then it's not gonna work, but if both are the same brand and not junk then you'd probably be fine....

It depends really. Brands dont really matter, as a lot of name brand companies make amps for no name brand comanies. Then, what I would need to know is how many channels is the amp, and is the sub a single voice coil or dual (if it has 2 speaker inputs or 1)?
But to answer your question, yes you can. Most of the time the rating you have is for PEAK power. The way peak power is rated is then manufacturer will send xxx amount of watts to a speaker until it blows. Even if it can only handle the power for .5 seconds, itll still be rated that way.
RMS is the power you need to be concerned with. RMS is continuos power output, which is usually half of the advertised output. So I bet your 1500 watt sub really can only handle 750RMS, and your amp thats 1000watt can actually only put out 500RMS. Let me know about your sub and amp and I'll tell ya how to wire it for best results.
