Adding Amp & Sub to Mach 460 creates PROBLEMS?
I took my 2001 Mustang GT to Circuit City to get an Amp and Sub installed. They told me that with the Mach 460 system that I might get a loud thump when I turn on the car. Also, that the amp could screw up the entire system. So I decided to wait and ask you guys. Is this true? Will there be a loud thump and how bad is it? Will the Amp screw up the Mach system? Thanks.
i got into a expedition at work that had a system in it, and it made a thump... it was all factory but there was an added sub. wasn't mach tho
did they car to explain why it would hurt it?
What I would do would be to power up the amp, and then to get the signal get a line output converter on one of the back speakers, and ur done

i screwed up my amps just by putting a new deck in my car i just had to buy a new amp and take out the 2 factory ones in the trunk and the factory preamp behind the old cd player and i didn't use a wiring harness so i had to rewire everything from scratch using the cd player manual and what i call "the bible" of my car
but maybe when i wired it up the first time i messed up wiring my amps back so i don't know, and now i call mine the mach 500 since it has more power output now

i have an aftermarket Alpine headunit with a Kenwood KAC-7202Amp with 2 x JL 10w1v2 subs in the back of my trunk along with the two mach 460 amps in the back.. No wire problems at all.. Sound great. Mach 460 can play great mids and highs and the subs really adds some thump to the music.
Yeah when I start my car and accidentally leave the amp on it'll create a thump but it is no biggie. I have a sub and amp hooked up with my stock cd player and got it wired from my rear speakers.
