Default Newbie Question

I'm looking at buying some 5x7" speakers in the very near future and for someon reason a lot of the speakers a I look at are labeled "5x7/6x8". What does that mean?

Where are you looking? Ebay usually puts both sizes so more people will hit their pages. Or maybe that the speakers are compatible with both mounts.

That's probably it. I've seen it on both eBay and Crutchfield. How does that affect the size of the speaker though because I can't fit a 6x9...it has to be a 5x7.

I did just that.
I didnt care for the 5x7 so I cut it out and installed Infinity 6x9 in the rear deck.
Much more sound.
I'm almost done with installing my amp which will power my set of 12's.

I'd prefer to cut mine too but I'm a little nervous about decreasing the value of having a solid, no cut body.
