Default Using an IPOD w/ FM transmitter

I've heard people mention these FM transmitter thingies that you can buy, and they plug into your IPOD (or somethin' along those lines). Is this possible? How much, what brand, and how good will it sound.

I am aware of the other avenue, removing your console and fitting an RCA adaptor.

fm mods are usually cheap and easy, but you get what you pay for. you can always try one out and return when you don't like it.

I have one and it works but it sucks. What you can do is hook up some RCA's to your deck and run them to a adapter and just hook it up to the earphone jack on the IPOD.

I have a buddy that got one and says it works well. Try it out, you can always return it.

I have a Belkin one that you can scroll to any FM station you want. the other nice feature about it is that it comes with a 12v plug so youre not burning batteries all the time. Ive had 2 other ones that were strictly batteries and you it seems like they always need replacing. after hours 3 or 4 the transmitting starts to get fuzzy cuz the batt's jsut dont have the juice to transmit anymore. I think you'd be happy with the belkin unit, i believe, dont quote me, it was about $40-45 at best buy.

I have a Monster Cable transmitter. It's so so. You wont get CD quality music. It slightly better than radio. I would reccomend to hardwire becuase it gets annoying to switch transmitting channels all the damn time.

Yeah, I have one, just a little one that hooks on the bottom of the ipod, but it doesn't work very well. It has to be really close to the dash and even then, it only works like half the time. I would just do hardwiring or get a new deck that's ipod capable. Alpine makes one with a built in adaptor, but the cable costs 30 bucks.

I have a "DLO TransPod All-in-One" I bought for $30 online. It's great. You can transmit on any frequency, and it only took me 1-2 minutes to find one that works well in my area. It's not on the same level as CD quality, but it's no worse than regular radio. I keep it in the box between the drivers and passenger seats, and plug into the 12V adapter in there.
