Default 6 Disc is a peice of ****

My 6 disc is trying to send me to the crazy house!!!! It sometimes works, but most of the time it wont change/accept/eject CD's!!! It just says "CD ERROR" I have taken it out and checked all components, it worked for a week, now it is doing it again. Is there a way to reset it or something so hopefully it will get ouit of it's funk long enough to spit out my CD's? Also, anyone else have this problem, solution?

Mine did that for a little while. I didn't really care.. I dont listen to music too much. On an unrelated issue, I disconnected my battery. When I hooked it back up and put the car in run, the 6-disc cycled through all the internal magazines for like 5 minutes. I put a couple CDs in and they load/play fine now. Still get the occassional 'doesn't like to play a certain track' nonsense, but other than that works ok. Its worth a try. Just leave you battery disconnected for about 15 minutes (I don't know if this is long enough, but thats how long mine was off). Hope this helps.

they do not like cdr and cdr-w or really any cd with a label on them. As he said try disconnecting power, you can also pull the fuse or disconnect the bat.

On mine when I went to eject some cd's and one of the cd's I would try to eject would get stuck on the top of the cd slot. It was ejecting the cd a little too high causing it to get stuck. It would just make a grinding noise and come up with a cd error on the screen.

We had to tap the cd down with a credit card to make it come down enough to actually eject.

I know it has been a really long time, but still no real resolution. When it dies, I just unhook the battery, sit for 5 min, and then re-attach, problem solved!

What kind of problems? Mine twice did not want to read a CD-R with mp3's on it. I have never put in a regualr CD, just MP3's.

There is a TSB (05-6-9) on this for the 05's. Mine's going in Friday to get the new one installed. If you have problems with home burnt cd's being rejected or any cd's skipping, get it replaced.

My cars 6-disc changer was HORRIBLE. Everyone please save yourself some headache and throw that joker in the trash! It ate CDs ALL the time. I had to slap the side of the console just to get it to eject a CD. This happened for a long time, then finally it just died and never ejected my CDs! I had to open up the unit and CAREFULLY fish out $70 worth of good CDs. I looked at the player to see what was wrong. Turns out there was a tiny white plastic gear inside the player that was worn out and had finally just broken off. This was why my CDs wouldnt come back out. I went to the pawn shop finally cause I had no money and I needed my music.[] Found a nice cheap Sony Chameleon CD player for $50. I already have 2 way 5.25 total mobile audio component sets all the way around. I bypassed the stock amps and ran new speaker wire directly to the Sony headunit. It sounds AMAZING! Its waaay cleaner sounding than the stock junk. Next im putting a 4 channle amp to them.
