Default JL Audio

I have always been a fan of JL Audio products. I used to be a Kicker fan until I realized that they were WATT ******! That was about 16 years ago now..... [&:]

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone has installed the JL Audio components in their 05+ Mustangs. Mine currently has the Shaker 500 in it and I am not happy with the sound. I do not want tons of bass but I would like something that can pump out some crystal clear sound at all ranges. Are the JL subs still any good??

I would like to replace the entire system - from headunit to each and every speaker. Give me your thoughts and ideas on what I should get. I need your help!!!

--- please include links, if possible.

This is what i recommend:

subs-JL audio

head unit-Pioneer

component speakers- diamond audio or Kicker

amp- rockford fosgate, JL, or kennwood

But really all you gotta do is stay away from sony :]

I dont really think that kickers are watt wh*res, but whatever you say...

Whats you budget? Do you want components or coaxials? Are you planning on amp them?

Jl makes some nice subs. The w6v2 is an awesome sub if you can afford it... The problem with JL is they are expensive!!! But you get what you pay for... So post up a budget and a bit more detail listing of what you want and we'll get the ball rolling.

Kickers are watt ******..... well to get the most out of them - you have to feed them with plenty of power. Thats my experience with them anyways. But like I said, that was 16 years ago so things could have improved by now.

I am not looking to add any heavy enclosures in my trunk - so lets start there.

Anything that I install MUST fit in the factory speaker location. I am not looking to spend more than $2500 for all of it (sorry, I am more into bolt on power adders than audio toys ). I can do the install myself so no need to factor in shop costs.
