wtf?!?!? no sound
so i install my new alpine head unit, lights up, starts to play, but theres no sound..i've redone all the connections twice, i read the manual and the only suggestion is to check if the internal amp is on which it is... im so lost and i hate driving around with no music. help anyone?
i dunno what its called i had a tape deck and a seperate cd player. it sounds like ****. on the tape deck theres the 8 pin plug which goes into the harness, then theres also a 6 pin on the tape deck and then the cd player has the 6 pin. i was fooling around i tried just plugging in the tape deck with the 8 pin and i got barely any sound i hooked up the 6 pin to the tape deck and cd player, and got full sound. its weird, i might just have a shop install it soon, this is pissing me off....
right now= completely stock. tape deck and cd deck (slave drive-like runs off of the tape deck)

Not sure if you have the premium sound system. But if you have factory amps, you have to buy a bypass plug for it or you won't get any sound from new deck. You can't use an amp to power another amp. IE your stereo is prob rated 50-200 watts. Best to call a car stereo shop and ask them. They will be able to tell you from their experiences.
