I don't think I meant box. I meant it as the thing that's in your dash. I thought that was called a box. Is it a good whatever it is?

Pioneer is a good brand when it comes to head units, but the thing with Pioneer is that they make everything not userfriendly. The ipod hook up on those are useless as well, dont be expecting to use it. You would be better off spending your cash on somthing by Alpine.

Why is the iPod hook-up useless?

Its not totally useless, but since the screen can only show so much, it may be hard to read which song/folder/whatever you are in. I don't have an iPod, but I hooked my MP3 player up to my Pioneer head unit with the auxiliary hookup that I had to buy seperate (was only like $20). Alpine also makes good head units, along with Eclipse. But this Pioneer unit will suit you well if you just want an aftermarket CD player and plan to hook up the iPod every now and then. Here is what you would need to buy to hook it up...

Forgot to mention, that link scrolls to a review that mentions the 3800MP and how to get aroundusing the head unit to scroll through songs...
