i believe a 1998 GT with the mach460 sound system has 6x8's up in the doors and rear deck? is this correct?

also how many feet of speaker wire would you approximate i would need to rewire the 4 speakers? i was guessing 30 feet?

I am not sure about the 6x8's but I think that would be too large for my '02 (I think they were 5x7's). As far as wiring, depends on location of amp. If it is internal (head unit) 30' is probably fine, if you put separate amps in trunk, you will probably need a little more.

Always figure a little extra as it comes in handy when you need to remove them for replacement or just getting installed. Really a bummer to only have 6" of slack and trying to hold speaker and remove/install connectors.

alright thanks, yea im not going to run a external amp as of right now.

still any one out there know the exact size of the speakers in a 1998 GT with the mach 460 sound system?

why are re re-wiring? you can if you want to go through the extra trouble but I would bet you will need more towards the 40-50ft mark myself.

my mach 460 sound system now has zero bass, there is something wrong with it. i am buying new speakers and dont want to deal with the hassle of the mach 460 so i am planning on buying all new speakers, and a headunit and rewiring andexclude the mach 460 sound system

is it the stock 460? if so then it sounds like you blew a fuse for the subs? If you replaced the HU then you probably did not wire up the amp turn on or wire into it properly(covered on page 2 of my sig).

where would the fuses for the subs be? i tried looking for fuses for it but didnt know where to start looking
