I was wondering what do you guys think would be the best speakers for my settup. I have 2 12 cvr in my trunk and they seem to drown out alot of the music. Im not to sure what is in it now but there now stock. I also have a Alpine400 watt 4 ch amp that would run them.

go to a shop with some cd's you are familiar with and listen to a couple of sets. When you know what you like let us know and then we can tell ya the best place to get them for the $$$. Us tellin ya what speakers you will like would be just as successfull as tellin you what music to like. It is all up to you and your tastes.

You want a comp set?

Comps are dependable on preference. Try out a lot of Rainbows, CDL's, and Focal's to name a few.

May be a good idea to see what the x-over point of the subs are. It is extremely hard to getso much bass to be "out of balance" with the rest of the system. But if the x-over point of subs is too high (for example anything over 250 htz, I prefer 70 htz) you will drown out as you say.

The basic requirement for system suggestions would be budget and your ability to diy.

I personally would start with a decent front stage before adding subs, but much can be done if you'll tell us how much money you have to spend.
