i have a 2002 mustang gt with a mach 460 + 6 disk changer. I was wondering if there was an AUX in, on the rear of the unit. fm modulator defeats the purpose of satelite radio.

 

ironically i had my radio out earlier tonight to try and replace it with an aftermarket unit and the only thing i noticied on the back on the stock deck is a spade terminal that nothing hooks into. i doubt its an input. and if your wanting to change headunits but keep the rest of the 460 system, search around a lot, mine came out sounding like ***. hopefully its just something wired wrong

 

thanks for the reply. i guess the only way to hard wire the Sirius satalite radio is to splice in through the stock antenia

 

I have a USA-SPEC thingamabob that I got from crutchfield. it has two aux inputs and it comes with a harness that uses the factory radio's CD-changer inputs. sounds pretty good, a hell of an improvement over an fm modulator. I'll see if I can find a link.

Provides a hard line type "aux in" for Sirius to any system that doesn't already have an "aux in". I'll be putting this in soon enough myself.

Since it works as a "relay", I would imagine it would work with anything that has a stereo headphone jack/output. For example, the relay remains off when the Sirius receiver is not on. In the off mode, it permits the car's antenna to operate as normal. Then, when you turn on the Sirius receiver, the Sirius receiver sends audio signals through its stereo headphone output. Once those signals reach this relay, the relay switches the car's antenna off, and transmits the audio signal that it's receiving from the Sirius receiver directly to the car's HU. Since there's nothing fancy about the Sirius receiver (it's a standard audio output like a headphone jack), it would appear that this relay would work with Walknan's, Ipods, etc. Don't quite me on it though...! I'll give you more once I head down to BB and put it in.

 

that usaspec thing doesn't kill off your cd changer, despite what it says on the website. Somebody else had tried it, and told me that my 6-disc would be fine, so I gave it a shot and didn't lose any functionality at all. you hit the cd button and it cycle's through input 1, input 2, and the cd changer. I'm assuming you're talking aboot the in-dash 6-cd changer, not an external one.

 

hmm.. interesting. yes i was talkin about the in-dash. well ill have to look into that then.

 

this interface works on must of the CD6 radio
to test the radio put a disc in,listen to the cd and press the cd button again,if nothing comes out on the display there is no way to add auxiliary inputs to your radio,
but if the radio shows NO CD , NO DJ this interface will work on mustang CD6 radio you don't lose any features on the factory radio
