I have gotten a couple out using a couple long thin flathead screwdrivers, but I make no guarantees.

yeah well i tried to take the dash part out around the radio but it seems like there is a hex or some kind of screw that i can't see. I think i have to get the radio out first then find the screw behind that i bet. But the radio part of the cdplayer is shot. wn't play any stations.

Dont waste your time taking apart the entire dash trying to get past those. Go to walmart and spend the $2 on the tool and go out in the parking lot and pop it out, if the money kills you do it and then walk back in and return them. This is so easy I have literally done this while driving.

did you buy the clarion after the car? or did it come with it?...my alpine came with the pins to remove it from the sleeve...i left them in the box for this very reason and i still have them in my garage

You should still be able to take your shift boot bezel out, then grab the "support beam" that runs strait back towards the firewall, it should have a hex screw in it unscrew that then the whole trim piece will pull out then the tabs on the deck cage and be pushed down and evertyhing should be good. Most Alpines and Pioneers all use the same ones, never used a Clarion so im not sure but... You may be able to go into a car audio shop and ask to give then a couple bucks or something to use them, or hell ask them if they know what the tool clarion uses to lock their decks in.
