I just found out that Kicker makes an 8" mid bass spkr and a 5.25" component system that will go right in the factory door loacation on my 06' GT. Does anyone know if these sound goodor are they crap? I plan on running them off of my JL audio 500/5 amp.

 

They're not bad, but there's plenty of other stuff out there that is better. Almost every audio shop carries Kicker. Go out and listen to some.

 

Exactly, Go listen to as many brands of equipment you can find. You will find out what you like and not have a shop telling you what to get.
