Installing a new head unit w/ mach 460
I bought a pioneer cd player from crutchfield. They sent me a wiring harness and mounting kit. Here is the wiring harness they sent me: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-GRZmlqS...sp?I=120701771
Here is the mounting kit: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-GRZmlqS...sp?I=003FMK550
I think i need a new wiring harness. Which should I get?

or

Also the mounting kit fits so that the cd try is on top of the cd player. Is that alright?

I did the sameaftermarket h/uinstall in my car. Its not hard at all if you get the right harness, unfortunately if you tell most companies that you have the mach 460, they send you the damn single harness. I had to do some research and found that if you use the wire harness made for a 98 and up mustang it works perfectly and the install takes no more than 10 minutes. Just make sure that there is a 16pin and an 8pin harness in the kit and the 8pin harness has a red and a white rca wire coming out of it. This goes to your pre-outs in you aftermarket h/u. The kit shouldnt be more than $15 from any car audio store.
The harness from parts express is the correct harness, with the 8pin just connect the rcas to the pre-outs and solder both amp-turn-on wires to the single amp turn on from your new h/u and ground the two ampgrounds to the chassis. There are a few bolts directly under where u mount your h/uwhich will do fine for grounding. The harness which crutchfield sent you is the correct harness for a lincoln/ford/mercury that does NOT have stock amplifiers. Unfortunately with the mach system you need the second harness for the stock amps.
Alright then. So I could use get the Scosche FD03 and use the harness that crutchfield sent me. Wouldn't that be the easiest thing to do?

No. This is the correct harness if you ADD a 4-channel aftermarket amp. To use you stock amps you need the whole set from parts express. To my knowledge no company sells the single 8 pin harness alone. This happened to me and I had to scrap my free harness. Sorry buddy, at least you didnt pay for the other harness.
Yeah I ended up going with the harness from parts express. Hopefully i can install all my stuff later this week. I bought the bluetooth pioneer player and ipod adapter. I also got the Sirius Starmate 4.
Ignor this post as it is not correct.
That hrns you gave the link to is made to plug into your new radio and allow you to use the factory subs. This is the same hrns that I made on page 2 of my sig. You will want to find the hrns I point to on page 2 and wire that into your speaker outputs on the deck.
