Default Boston SX component system?

Hey.. I'm looking to put new door speakers up front. My car didn't come with the mach stereo, so i'm looking at the boston sx60 system. I have a pioneer DEH P8400 head unit I would run them straight off of, (no money for an amp right now).
I would mount the crossovers on the doors kinda down in the map compartment or whatever you call that..

I think I'd like to buy some mach tweeter covers and figure out a way to put the boston label where it usually says "Mach460" [edit]= like this:

Any input?? or ideas??

Those are pretty decent I used to listen to those all day, they are a good all around speaker. I never listened to them powered solely off a deck though. So....

If you power comps with the hu expeect to be let down. The crossover can absorb more wattage then your hu can put out.

If you are going through the trouble of putting in comps, do it right and amp them.

If you provide a budget for the amp and wiring, I can give you a couple good options.

umm... I don't know man.. The $250 for the speakers alone was pushing it on what I wanted to spend..

I like a good sounding system.. but at the same time, there are other things that i'd rather spend my money on..

For that total budget I would get:

Comps: http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_ID=5207(They are 6.5's but fitting should be easy) $99

Amp: http://ikesound.com/product-product_id/2217$75

Wiring: Geta 4 guage kit from wal mart for like $50 (You can add another amp for a sub later)

Thats $225 and it will kill those bostons powered buy the hu. Powering the bostons with an amp would be very nice though. If that breaks the bank a little, you can get a slightly less powerful amp. 65 watts x 2 version is $58.

Thanks alot for looking all that up man...

Hmm.... I really don't know much about CDT however it looks like they make a few high end systems... The Profile California amp seems like a decently priced unit though... Would it work fine with the SX's?

Also is there a better sounding speaker for around the same price range... I see that the SX60's are 209 at that site...good price..

Listen to PReal, man knows what hes talking about.

He suggested me a different system than what I originally wanted, followed his advice, and upon install, I shed a tear .

Amped Comps are def the way to go, I can't even imagine my Polks through the head unit (22 watts instead of 100? Pffft).
