Default 6.5" adapter plates

Anybody got any extra 6.5" adapter plates for the factory 5x7 location laying around they want to send me? If not, do I just pick up some 1/4" and go from there?

Or buy a set of these for $10 and call it a day...

fyi - 5x7 and 6x8 are commonly interchangable in terms of mounting. I'm pretty sure they'll work for ya. Also, heed the warnings of the adapters not adding more mounting depth for a larger driver (you would have that problem anyhow).

I have made my own using some thin high density fiberboard. ( I used a couple of those $.99 clip boards from wal mart.)

Its as easy as tracing your old speakers, cutting the shape out, and then cutting the mounting diameter of your speaker in the plate.

as he said take out your 5 x 7 and trace it out on your board. Now take the 6.5 grill from your new speakers and trace it inside and out. Cut it out and you have your baffles. I have a how-to on my cardomain page for my truck showing how to do it, as well as build an enclosure for them. I'll post it later when I am home

You honestly will no notics much difference betweent he 5 x 7 and the 6.5 though and I don't know if it is worth the extra money.......
