Default Sub randomly RUMBLES

One dual 2 ohm Type R 12 wiredto one ohm being powered by a Soundstream 705s.

Everythingwill be working fine but then at random the sub will start violently rumbling and I will have to turn the stereo off to stop it. I would think I should be able tomake it stop byturning off the subfrom the headunit without actually turning the unit itself off but when I dothat it dosn't make it stop for some reason. Whenthe subis playing normalyand I cut theit off from the headunit it does go off like it's supposed to but it seems to have no effect once it goes bizerk. I don't understand that b/c once the remote signal is cut shouldn't the amp lose power?I'm pretty sure everything is wired up correctly. I have rewired it before and it still does this. Any ideas?

I had a problem like that a long time ago becuase my speaker wire had the negative wire touching ground becuase of an insulation break.

Do you have the sub channel on high power mode?

check ur ground...make sure it aint loose & check RCA cables...if they are bad or loose, or (think its running with) the power wire it causes interferance. you will hit a bump or something and the connection gets moved it will rumble. turn ur radio all the way down and listen/feel the sub and u might be able to find some interferance.

I had the same problem, didn't want to start f'n ish up more, took it to the shop and they bumped down the gain on the amp, and bumped up the sub output on the HU. It kinda fixed it but theres still a faint rumble. It was weird becuase it would rumble more if i reved. So now i guess im gonna go out and check all my connections

I have the amp set on high current which is what is suggested for loads 1 ohm or less. I moved the ground to a different location and also rewired the headunit and it still does it.

Wire the sub up to 4 ohms and run the amp in high power mode. That power/current switching stuff was a little crazy, and it looks like it makes about the same power in high power mode at a 4 ohm load.

what size power wire are you using? Have you upgraded the factory ground?

The power wire isa Lanzar 4 gauge.I'm guessing you mean the factory ground on the headunit? No I havn't upgraded that. Any ideas as to why the amp would be powering the sub even with the remote turned off?

You can run the sub at whatever ohm load you want as long as your amp is stable. The higher the ohm load the less power your gonna get.
