Default First time installation. Help

I have a 1998 Mustang with the seperate tape deck and Cd heads. The CD player doesn't work and I want to replace the factory radio with an aftermarket Sony Xplode. I know Iwill have to bypass the factory amp but I'm not sure what harness I will need and exactly how to bypass the amp. I thought I could bypass it using the standard connectors that are located behind the radio, but that didn't work. So how do I do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

your best bet to match up a hrns is to pull the deck and take it to a shop.

Page 2 on my sig shows how I integrated into a '94 mach system.

You don't HAVE to bypass the factory amps. You can if you want to use a four channel but with the right harnessyou can still use the factory system. It is hard to find the right ones though b/c people get confused with all the different Mach setups. Let me know what you have and I can probably tell you the right one to buy. Also Sony Xplods are pretty crappy headunits. I would suggest looking into somthing else unless you just already have it.

I bypassed the factory amp for the tweets and used some cross overs. IT sounds alot better IMO.
