Need help with mp3 player installation!!!!
Alrighty, I have a huge problem and am completely out of ideas. This is my last resort before paying to have someone fix this for me.
K, I recently just purchased a poorly maintained 95 GT. A lot of work is needed for this thing, most of it being on the inside though. My problem today is my mp3 player.
I bought this car, 3rd owner, and the previous owner told me that the cd player installed was put in by the original owner. It was an old P.O.S. and I love my mp3 player. I decided to take out the old aftermarket cd player. I took it out, hooked mine up through the wiring harness that was used from the old cd player. Everything went perfectly, i put it all back together and it all worked fine. The mp3 player turned on, cd went on playing (you could watch the timer for the song count) but there was no sound!
I looked at it again, its all hooked up right according to the harness and my mp3 player but even when i turn it up as loud as it will go it wont play the music! The speakers are fine cause i just listened to the old cd player (btw, fell apart when i took it out or i would put it back in) and it all sounded great.
I have a pioneer 4600mp mp3 player. The only differences that i can think of is the age of the players and the watts, the elder put out 45x4 and the mp3 putting out 50x4. I dont understand. Please help me!!!!!

So are you saying the old CD player was also a Pioneer and you just used that harness and hooked it up to your newer Pioneer CD player? And is this a separate mp3 player?
Yup, the old cd player was an old pioneer and my mp3 player is also a pioneer. I am using the same wiring harness for the mustang that was in there. Are you saying that i would need a newer wiring harness for the newer player?
Yeah didn't your new Pioneer come with a harness. I've been down that road you figured as long as it fits it should work right??? Not always, especially if its really old. If you connect your new harness, you shouldn't have any problems. Make sure you connect your mach amp power to the remote turn on! Alot of people forget that and freak out and say the head unit is junk.

I have my mp3 player hooked up to the wires that came with that one. Im using that one. I meant that thewiring harness(example below)that plugs into the stang and splits that into the colored wires. Is that the one that might need replacing?
2:
I didn't connect my remote turn on to anything or the amp power cause i dont have any amp in there yet. So i should try connecting the amp power to the remote turn on?
ex to 1:
stang ---> wiring harness ---> mp3 harness---> mp3 player

hey, thanks for all the help! i had never had to do this before but i just needed to hook up the remote side (i thought it was for the remote control i got for the mp3 player, thats why i never hooked it up). that did the job. doesn't make sense though, i never had to do it with any other car. oh well, its going on now and thank you very much for your time!
