Speaker problem
I was wondering how much power does the stock Mach 460 come with. Well the thing is one of the front speakers in not working and I want to change it for something with more power. Any suggestions or shouldI buy the speaker from ford .
Dont buy from Ford waste of time and money. It prolly puts out about 20 watts per channel. Just about any coaxial will operate fine. Go out and listen to some speakers and see what your ears like. Unless you want some of us to tell you what we like.
I think the stock speakers are wired for 2 ohm and they are used just for bass. I'd run a new HU and run new wire for new speakers. Don't invest in a Mach 460 system. Honestly no aftermarket coaxials are great for bass. I'd suggests buy a nice set of components and a 8 or 10 sub to compliment the bottom end.

Not only is he right, but the cost of the aftermarket will be way less then the FOMOCO stuff.
OP,
What is your budget and what type of music do you listen too.
Im in the same situation, so i dont know if i should start a new post or if it's ok to use this one, let me know. I have listened to just a few component sets vs coaxials, and i like the compenents better every time. Do thetweetershappen tofit in the original 460 spot on the pillars with a component setup? I was looking at using the Eclipse CD4000 for $250.00 but don't necessarily want to replace everything all at once so I can spend a bit more on each part as money allows.
