Its not in a mustang. I put a radio in someones car for them (a suzuki reno) and now the dash lights dont work, everything else does. No blown fuses, i checked the bulbs in the dash and they are not burnt out. I even put the stock radio back in and still nothing. You guys have any ideas???

Did you check all the fuses including the ones by the battery under the hood?

 

yeah, i checked all the fuses. I hate working on foreign cars. My brother said something about a security thing that they put in new cars where if you take the stock radio out some things wont work?? any more ideas???

 

I assume you cut the hrns that was in the car? This reminds me of a problem I had with some crazy import. there were two wires behind the radio that had to be connected to work. They could have linked the lights into the radio but that is more GM's style. For that car you would be better off trying to find a forum for it. Otherwise try checking the unused wires behind the deck...........

 

no i did not cut the wires, i have looked for some of that cars specific forums but could not find any, i will look some more though.

 

check the dimmer
