yes i have in the stock housings. they are off a guy one ebay. bi-xenon (high and low beams). the kit is made by Phillips. top quality. i paid $285 shipped. there are cheaper ones but HIDs are not something you want to cheap-out on.

now for my recommendations.

HIDs are really best in projector housings. i know they look ricey, but a set of projector headlights plus 4300-5000k HIDs will give you the best lighting possible. anything more than 6000k is a waste of money because even though they have more color, the actual usable light decreases so you might as well just buy some colored halogen bulbs.

i wish i had bought projector lights first because the bulbs are different so if i wanted to switch i would have to buy a new HID kit.

i really recommend the guy i bought mine from though. they shipped very fast and he was very friendly and knowledgable. he provides his phone number so if you have any questions when installing you can just call him up (which i did just to be sure).

and these are the LEAST ricey projectors i have seen so far (they weren't available when i got my HIDs. if they WERE i would have bought them):

they ALMOST look OEM. almost like BMW lights. i wouldn't hook up the halos though-->[:'(]

this is true, the usual spectrum ranges from 4300k to 10000k; anymore than that and they do sometimes charge you. but anything over 6000k is just for show anyways.

4300 and 6000kare the brightest color temperatures you can go with however if you want a slight purple hue go with 8000k or more of a blue go with 10000k. 12k which is a deep violet color is not legal for on road use though

nope 10000k is pretty much BLUE. 8000k is the in between and it LOOKS the most similar to factory HIDs because the projectors that the OEMs use make the lighting LOOK purple at some angles. but if you look straight on at the light, or have ever ridden in a BMW/Lexus/etc. with HIDs from the factory, you would see it is much whiter.

So if I want it to look pretty much blue 10000K is what I want? Glad you told me or i would have gotten the 8000K.

The pictures on stangmods make the 8000k look more blue though[&:]

edit:

...That is pretty much the look i want, and this guy says he has 8000K fogs / lights...and some matching white LED turn signals....so maybe 8000K is what i need afterall.

I agree. I have been wanting to do the same but I don't know if I hate the stock lights or the riced out ones more. I considered painting the black housing around the projector to match the car but i am not sure if it would help............
