Default How To Add Sub To Mach 460

My 04 Stang came with the Mach 460 Sound system and I was wondering what would need to be done to add a subwoofer 2 12s or 1 15 in the trunk? Would I need another amp or is it possible to run the Subs off of one of the two amps that are already mounted in the trunk?

Line out converter and you're gonna need another amp for them.

Ok thanks. One more question, I was told the Stock Deck would possibly not be able to handle that much power by a installer at Best Buy, is this true?

hahaha ok, now on this line out converters is there anything that sets them apart from each other, as far as power capabilities and what not?

No not really. As long as you don't get some offbrand name you've never heard of. Make sure you tune the gain correct so you can have a little bass control over the system.

100% incorrect.... LOC's have a power rating for the input wattage. If you buy an LOC made for 15 watts rms or less input and put 30 to it, the LOC will release the magical white smoke.

Well I've never seen any rated that low. Most are rated from 30-80 that I've used installations. You can grab a Scosche SLC4 from Wallymart for $20 and they are good for up to 80-90.
