Default Speaker troubles :[

So I have diamond audio component speakers and they don't turn on at all. They arent blown they just don't turn on, the tweeters work fine though. Any idea whats wrong with them? Are they fixable? Oh and I doubt there is anything wrong with the installation my dads installed systems before...

Just the woofers aren't playing? Can you touch the cone and it moves in and out?

Hmmm and they are running through a crossover I would assume, are all your connections at the crossover connected properly?

If you can access the crossover I would check and make sure the inputs and outputs are correct. If not you may have a problem within your crossover, or the wire leading to your mid may be disconnected, I assumed you already had the door apart and checked connections and so forth.

Two things I would consider.

1. As mentioned above, make sure every connection is tight and has good contact.

2. Check your crossover and look for black carbon deposits from a cap blowing or something of that sort. It is possible you might have hooked somehting up wrong and the crossover didn't like it very much.

I would think the signal is good given the tweets make noise, hopefully its just a loose connection.

i had the same problem, however i had my whole system rewired at one shop, and at the next i had my indash dvd installed, somewhere along the line the speaker wiring for the front 6x8's got messed up, so i just bridged my new speakers off the off the stock tweeters. they work fine now.

I would be really careful randomly briding wires. If you have a loose connection and it grounds out, you will either change fuses every 5 minutes or kiss your indash goodbye.
