Default in-dash dvd

ok, im sure this has been answered a thousand times, but i cant figure it out....

i have a dual xdvd8181 unit installed in my 97 mustang, and i'm trying to wire it so that it'll play dvds without the parking break engaged. we've spliced into the wire, and connected it to a ground, a complete circuit, almost everything. any suggestions on how to make this work so i didnt waste my money?

You wasted money anyway you look at it.

But to get dvds or any video disc to play you have to ground out the parking break wire, it's that simple. You must be hooking something up wrong it you did what you say you did and it still doesn't work.

Wow, somebody needs a hug today...........

it depends on the brand on what you have to do and I amnot familiar with that brand.

Check the owners manual as it may need to go through a sequence before it turn off(on-off-on).

Could be that scenario too. In which case you'll need to set it up on a toggle switch and go through that sequence when you want it to play.

Yes I need a hug.

when you say ground out the parking break wire, you mean the one coming from the dvd player right? not from the actual parking break or something wierd like that?

sorry im not a very electrical-savvy guy.

thanks for your help too

are you sure you wanna start dickin with the wires? I am not calling you out but you have to know your limits and if you are not for sure which wire we are talking about then give some thought to it before you start grounding wires so you can watch video illegally........

I don't need a hug, I just do not want to send someone that is unprepaired into electrical wiring.
