Default Is this a good deal??

I have a friend that totaled his truck and is will to sell me the system that was in it. What he has is a JL 500/1 amp to power three 10inch JL W1 subs. A JL 4 channel 75 watt ampand4 front speakers andI think a Tsunami conductor so my headlights dont dim. He is offering to sell me all this for $600, is this a good deal. Also how do you think this system would soundI havent heard it yet.
Thanks,

Yea that is sorta what I was thinking after I looked around on JL web site and read somemore about the subs. How do yall think the Jl 500/1 would sound pushing two 12 w3v2s. Is that s good upgrade or should i just go with the 3 10's

W1 is a series, it has nothing to do with how old it is. $600 isn't a bad price for everything, i'd offer him $500 and see if he takes it, either way i'd go for it.

The new W3's are nice but if you can get the W1's cheap just use those.

Dont listen to that kid either he is an idiot.

offer him 450 for the two amps and subs. then take the rest of the money and get yourself a nice component set and bridge the amp to power them. forget the 4 speakers and the cap.

That seems like a good suggestion. The cap is useless and if you want great sound, comps are the way to go.

No, And it's not a problem I am happy to make you aware of it.
W1's are current, your saying the model number is dependant on the age of the woofer. W1,W3, W6 and W7 is the series not the version or the approximate time it was made.

They make W7's now lol. They have been making W7's for around 8 years. So those are old right?

Know what your talking about before you speak.

And yes, no rear stage or a cap is necessary. I would at minimum get the amps, if you have the money and want less drivers which is always a space saver, get 2 of the W3's. If he will sell without the cap and subwoofers good, if he wont without getting the subwoofers, just get the subwoofers too.
