ok so ordered the ed sub you guys sugested for my friend and we are going to build an amp rack for the amps he has what is the best material to use (wood blah blah)

What type of amp rack are you talking? You dont really need anything super thick like 3/4 MDF like you do for a box. 3/8 MDF would work, I mean if your covering it I guess it doesn't really matter what wood your using to build a rack, but if it was me I would use 3/8 or 1/4 MDF.

Which sub? The 13Kv2, you got the Dual 4 right, you do black or silver?

Definitely don't so the 3/4" MDF. I used it b/c I had a bunch left over and my amp rack weighs twice as much as the sub and box. It's a pain to move around. I would go with Seight and get the thinner stuff.

I have used 0.25, 0.5 and 0.75 in MDF and all of it works great.

In my pathfinder I used 0.75 becuase it has to carry a load.

well this is just for the amps not for the sub, but yet that is the sub he ordered in black.

So .75 MDF is similiar to your girlfriends back end?

And the black would have been my choice too! If you have scraps and plan on covering just use that, if you are buying... Save some money and weight and go with 3/8 or 1/4 MDF.
