I have heard many stories of Pioneer not honoring the warranty because the unit was bought from a non-authorized dealer.

Also, to make it fit, you will need the Metra 99-5807 mounting kit, harness, and antenna adaptor.
Crutchfield Item Numbers:
120995807 Mounting Kit
12040CR10 Antenna Adaptor
120705520 Wiring Harness

well i decided to go with another dealer that is cnet certified or something like that. they claim that it comes with a one-year warranty with a three year extended warranty only 80 bucks. so a new question, is it possible to listen to music while using the navigation system? is the text-to-voice feature audible over the stereo? thanks.

Yes, you can listen to an external source anytime, however, you can only listen to a CD once it has your route in memory. (you have to swap the Nav DVD with your CD.)
The voice prompts are played over the speakers and temporally mute the music.
