Default DVD player recommendations!!

I have a 2001 Bullitt and I am looking to upgrade the sound system. I want to get a DVD player for it and have been looking at quite a bit of them. I am a big fan of Alpine and I heard Kenwood makes a great DVD player. Money is not really an issue here so if anyone could please recommend some DVD players so I could narrow this search down a little bit I would greatly appreciate that. Thanks a lot!

Eclipse...

Not sure of the current model numbers right off hand, but I and anyone I have sold one too back when I worked at a shop was always super happy with them.

i second the Eclipse AVN units. the Pioneer units are also nice. the Alpines are good as well, but have less features than the other two companies..well actually there are add-ons, but they are just that: add-ons. pioneers and eclipse units come standard with a lot of features that the Alpine units have as options.

on a side note, since you have a 2001 (first year for double din dash) you should definitely go with a "double-din" size unit. this means the screen takes up the whole slot, whereas a flip-up unit takes up half the space in the dash, and then you have to have a "dash kit" that has an ugly-***-unusable storage pocket under the head unit. that and the flip up navis don't really have room to fully extend in the mustangs because the radio is so recessed. it ends up pointing upward at an angle and looks really ugly.

also the Eclipse and Pioneers usually have green backlighting which looks the most OEM. the Alpines are all currently backlit blue which doesn't match.

and Kenwood doesn't really make anything as good or better than the three previous mentioned companies. sorry to sound rude, but their stuff isn't that good. their older dvd/navi unit was decent, but was inferior to the Eclipse, plus i thought it was a bit harder to navigate through the menus. i don't know much about the newer ones, but they probably have the same quirks as the older ones.
