do u have a tape player? because instead of paying $40for the fm transmitter you can buy a $10 tape player adapter. This way you dont have to dick around with your radio and transmitter when the station u were using suddenly becomes a real station...actually happens around here a lot

If your car came with a decent stereo in it I wouldnt waste your money on the FM transmitter. What I mean by this is if your stereo system is good enough that you can tell a difference between the quality of music between the FM radio and a CD. If you can I would suggest going with the adapters they make that physically plug into your radio rather than transmitting thru an FM signal, this way it has the sound quality of a CD provided your mp3 files are decent. I have had mine for a little over a year now and havent had much trouble with it and it is fairly easy to install, only downside is it cost more than the FM transmitter...I think I paid around 160 or 170 for my adapter.

exactly what i did. 100 dollar deck. 30 dollar monster cable plugs straight into your ipod, you control the volume and songs and everything from your ipod. problem is i have to turn my stereo up to 30 and use the ipod controls to make it sound like stock volume control, and i forget to turn it down and switch to the radio. lucky i havent blown speakers. but this setup is the best way to go!!
