Mach 460 to MP3 conversion?
Be gentle, people. This is my first post here and frankly, I don't know what I'm doing
.
I'm considering a 2000 Mustang GT with what I think is a Mach 460 system. If not, please let me know. At any rate, here's a picture.

Now remember, I'm comfortable about working around aftermarket equipment and Japanese stuff, but this is my first foray into Mustang. In the best of all possible worlds, I'd be able to remove that CD player and replace it with ... something ... that would play CDs loaded with MP3s. I'm also a Sirius satellite radio freak and would like some way to install one of those receivers.
Would it be simpler to tear everything out and start all over again? Or is there a way to keep some of the stock equipment given what I want to do. And like I say, if this isn't a Mach system, please tell me.
Many thanks in advance.....Mike Nassour / Austin TX

The pic didn't come thru whenI looked at the post. If you have an owners manual, read the radio part. I "think" the 460 will play cds burned with mp3 format.
As for Sirius, look for a thread I started recently. The wired FM modulator works great in my car. Pull radio, plug modulator in the back and connect all back up.
BTW, your radio has clips to release it. Autozone has the tool you need. It looks like a long, thin u-joint...2 are needed.
